A spoken word artist, an entrepreneur, and a doctor in the making.
Titilayo Mabogunje is a multi-faceted young woman: a spoken word artist, an entrepreneur, and a doctor in the making. Born in the United Kingdom, she moved to Nigeria where she spent most of her formative years and completed her secondary education. She then went on to complete her A-Levels at African Leadership Academy in South Africa where she rubbed minds with some of Africa’s best and brightest future leaders. Titilayo is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at Yale University in the United States, after which she hopes to go to Medical School and become a doctor.
Despite her scientific focused studies, Titilayo has an undeniable passion for performing arts. She is the winner of the first edition of War of Words, a slam poetry competition in Nigeria. She continues to perform self-written pieces and also runs a Summer Poetry Camp for African teenagers to give them the tools and a platform to express themselves. She also loves learning new dances, playing music, and baking up a storm of cookies, cakes, and other desserts wherever she can.
